The Profile

Your BanyanLink profile is no simple resume. It is your personal brochure; your personal marketing plan. All of the experiences, aspirations, and accomplishments that make you a valuable individual will be displayed for friends, employers, and professors, past, present or future, to see and experience. Fill out your Life List and keep running track of your life’s varied and important goals. Upload images of the person, place and thing that inspire you most. Craft your personal "logline" by choosing two historic persons that, together, best describe your character. Post your latest song, upload your manuscript, premier your student film, or display photos from your recent Euro-trek. Once your BanyanLink profile is complete, it will be a thorough, accurate and ever-evolving document of who you are at your best, and where you want to be in life. It will be something your are genuinely proud of.

Quest

BanyanLink is a community of likeminded, highly ambitious students, and Quest is that community’s voice. This is a generation that wants success on all levels, and isn’t afraid to acknowledge that financial freedom is a top priority. With this in mind, we bring you Quest. Quest will combine original BanyanLink content, including interviews with some of the world’s most important industry leaders, and will also aggregate content from partner publications from across the web. Beyond that, BanyanLink members are encouraged to submit their own pertinent writing as well. After review from the Quest editorial staff, some of these submissions will be published on BanyanLink. Quest acknowledges that there is a space between information and entertainment, and seeks to occupy it.

Your School’s Career Center

Universities nationwide are establishing their presence on BanyanLink. We have created a customizable module for university career centers to interact with their students. Career centers can upload important documents and guides; post suggested reading, host online seminars, and anything else they think up. By inviting career centers into the realm of "web 2.0", we are allowing them to reconnect with you on a more meaningful and modern level, and provide you with the wealth of content and services that will support you along your collegiate and professional journey. The sidebar on the left side of your BanyanLink page is just one of the organizational innovations that we’ve created to make your time on BanyanLink easy, engaging, and efficiently utilized. Each module is expandable and contractible to reduce clutter, and when new content appears within a closed module, it will glow to let you know to expand it. Drag and Drop the modules to customize their order according to your priorities.

BanyanGroups

Create a group and gather likeminded students to discuss any topic of value to you, from "Martin Scorsese is my hero", to "Advanced Molecular Theory"; from "Mega-Yacht Enthusiasts" to "Yoga gets me high". Whatever your interest, focus, or desire, find people who agree, or don’t, and engage in some rousing banter. While BanyanLink is in essence a professional networking site, it refuses to be boring. Calendar // Events

All too often we miss important events simply because we are uninformed. How many cluttered bulletin boards to you see in every building on your campus? Believe it or not, those eyesores contain information on events that could potentially be of great value to you. BanyanLink endeavors to catalogue those events and distill them by category, so that you can search within your university network and determine what is important to you. Once you’ve selected an event, click "Add To My Calendar" and it will seamlessly update your personal calendar.

BanyanLink Corporate Communities (Launching May 2008)

Spark your career by engaging with employers on BanyanLink. By offering new and innovative features to employers, we are attracting the big league recruiters, as well as boutique firms who can sometimes offer you even more than the big guys. These employers are eager to find the top quality talent that the BanyanLink member base provides. Employers will be able to create invitation-only groups for new job openings where selected students will be able to interact with HR from that company and engage in group interviews, online seminars with upper management, and any other dialogue that the employer desires.
